Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes, we deliver flooring and heating supplies nationwide, with fast dispatch on stocked lines from our North West base.
What products do you sell?
Flooring adhesives, self-levelling compounds and screed, underlay, LVT, safety flooring, sheet vinyl, laminate, carpet and carpet tiles, trims and stair nosings, tools and consumables, plus electric underfloor heating, thermostats, towel bars, radiators and electric boilers.
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payment is taken through an encrypted Shopify checkout accepting Visa and Mastercard.
Can you advise which product I need?
Yes. Call 07927 556 532 and tell us the floor covering and subfloor — we will recommend the correct preparation, adhesive, underlay and finishing products.
Adhesives
Which adhesive do I need for LVT?
Glue-down LVT is normally fixed with a pressure-sensitive or acrylic adhesive suited to resilient floor coverings. Always check the flooring manufacturer's own recommendation on the product datasheet, because some LVT ranges specify a particular adhesive type for warranty purposes.
Do I need to prime before adhesive?
Most absorbent subfloors — sand/cement screed, smoothing compound, plywood — are primed so the adhesive does not dry out too quickly. Non-absorbent surfaces such as power-floated concrete or old adhesive residue have their own primer requirements. The primer to use is stated on each adhesive's datasheet.
How much adhesive will I need?
Coverage depends on the trowel notch and the subfloor. Each product page shows the coverage quoted by the manufacturer for that tub size. If you tell us the area and the floor covering, we can work the quantity out with you on the phone.
Underlay
How much underlay do I need?
Take the room area in square metres, add an allowance for cuts, then divide by the roll coverage shown on the product page and round up to the next whole roll.
Can I use underlay with underfloor heating?
Only where the product states it is suitable. A high-tog carpet underlay insulates the floor and reduces heat output, so a low-tog underlay designed for heated floors should be used instead.
Vinyl & LVT
How many packs of LVT do I need?
Measure the floor area in square metres, add an allowance for cuts and wastage, then divide by the coverage per pack shown on the product page. The calculator on each flooring product page does this for you and rounds up to whole packs.
What is the difference between glue-down and click LVT?
Glue-down LVT is bonded to the subfloor with a flooring adhesive, which gives a very stable, thin floor suited to commercial areas and underfloor heating. Click LVT has a locking edge and floats over an underlay, so it is faster to fit and can be lifted again.
Do I need underlay under LVT?
Glue-down LVT is fixed straight to a prepared subfloor and does not take underlay. Click LVT needs a thin underlay rated for rigid click floors — check the flooring manufacturer's instructions, as some click ranges have underlay already attached.
Can LVT go over underfloor heating?
Most LVT ranges are suitable over electric underfloor heating provided the floor surface temperature limit given by the manufacturer is not exceeded — commonly 27°C. Check the specific range's datasheet before ordering.
Floor Preparation
How much levelling compound will I need?
Coverage is quoted per bag at a nominal depth, for example a set area at 3mm. Multiply your floor area by the depth you need and compare it with the bag coverage on the product page, then round up to whole bags.
Do I need a DPM before levelling?
A surface damp-proof membrane is used where the subfloor's residual moisture exceeds the limit set by the floor covering manufacturer. Testing the subfloor first is the only reliable way to decide.
Can I level over an existing floor?
It depends on what is there. Sound, well-bonded adhesive residue and existing smoothing compound can often be primed and levelled over; loose, flaking or bitumen-based surfaces need removing or isolating. Our subfloor preparation guide covers the usual cases.
